Players & Ratings
Every player has:
- An Overall rating (OVR) — the headline number, 1–99.
- A primary position (and sometimes a secondary).
- A style — how they play (see Player Styles).
- Rarity — Common, Rare, Epic, Legendary.
- A set of attributes relevant to their role.
Positions
Nifty uses 14 positions:
- Goalkeeper: GK
- Defence: CB, LB, RB, LWB, RWB
- Midfield: CDM, CM, CAM
- Attack: LW, RW, LWF, RWF, CF
Players are happiest in their primary position. Playing them out of position is possible but usually costs you.
Overall rating
Overall is a single number summarising how good a player is for their role. A 78-rated striker and a 78-rated centre-back are both strong — but at different jobs.
Rarity
Rarer players tend to have higher ceilings and rarer style combinations. Rarity is a signal, not a guarantee — some Commons are excellent in the right role.
Attributes
Attributes are scored out of 99 and split by what matters for the position:
- Goalkeepers are judged on handling, reflexes, distribution.
- Defenders on tackling, marking, positioning.
- Midfielders on passing, vision, work rate.
- Forwards on finishing, pace, off-the-ball movement.

Chemistry & synergy
Some styles combine well when played near each other on the pitch (for example, a Ball-Playing centre-back behind a Regista in midfield). See Player Styles for the full list.
